Drake falls on stage & Waynes reaction!!

While doing a show in Philly as part of the "America's Most Wanted Tour" ft. Lil Wayne, SouljaBoy and Young Jeezy, rapper Drake collapsed on stage and injures his already problematic leg. Drake f'd up his ACL a while back, and has had to sit out a few performances (literally, he recently performed at the BET awards in a chair). The clip also shows Wayne's humorous reaction to the fall. Peep it:

Wayne's reaction was priceless, but it is extremely ironic that he has a bad knee when his character from the hit show Degrassi is most memorable for being in a wheelchair. LOL

There honestly isnt enough coverage of racism in this country. Yes, we see it sometimes but its usually passed over or taken lightly. Its not a subject that should be taken lightly at all, and its a shame that although we have a black president people still think the same. Heres a video of a standoff between Black Panthers and white supremacists after 2 white men were cleared of charges stemming from the murder of a black man. While I dont support either side since bot are racist I will use this video to show a problem our country is still facing...

I am a big fan of art, and while I post mostly on entertaintment there's ALWAYS room for art in my life. This post features a co-worker of mine with extra-ordinary talent who goes by Holly Sigmon (well its her name) based in Brooklyn, New York but raised in good old Detroit, Michigan. Her art is really great, I am always jealous of people with creative skills. Her paintings show people in an amazing light and I find the ones that feature women to be extremely beautiful. They also have great use of color to them, and I like color. Before I embarrass myself even more trying to sound like I have any knowledge in the art arena besides being able to say "oh pretty" Ill let you see for yourself. :-)

As I've mentioned before I do some of my best thinking while riding the MTA, and today was no exception. As I rode home from work at around 11 o'clock, so into my music, this homeless looking man shuffles to the seats in front of me. He has multiple bags, an overgrown beard and I notice that his head is incredibly bent. He's obviously had a rough life. As I try to hide my staring, I begin to wonder if his head is bent because of medical reasons or if for so long he's held his head down in shame that his neck has taken on that angle. I watched in sadness at this man, a man who at one point (and still may) have goals and dreams that have yet to be fulfilled, who everyday is prone to stares and disappointing looks from people who will probably never be in his situation. So to the man with the bent head, sorry that I've stared at you for the entire train ride without knowing anything about you except that your head may be permanently bent at a 90 degree angle thanks to people like me...

Event: NAACP Youth Centenial celebreation!!

Last night I went to an event hosted by the NAACP which one of my friends, D-Ferg, was showing his amazing art at. It was a really cool event celebrating the NAACP centennial but also giving young people of color a chance to show their creativity and skills. UNFORTUNATELY my mom decided to take my camera home after taking pics for my little brothers birthday so I was unable to take pics of my own. I'm so bummed about that!! However, I did have people take pics for me and hopefully they will send them. Ill have to update!!

The Hosts were Jerome Lamaar of Baby Phat fame and Briana Bighan who was on BET's show "Harlem Heights" and the fashion show consisted of young designers of color. The pictures can really tell more than words, but the art that was displayed my D-Ferg, Jay West and L.A.R.E.B.E.L of Broken (aka L.A) was inspiring and a great way to show that not all young black men show their creative side through rap, art is a BIG part of our culture as well. All around it was a cool event celebrating black youth who are sometimes overlooked.

I had a hard time finding a title to go with this video. To put it bluntly (as WorldStar HipHip did so well) its a gay amputee singing Mariah Carey's "Obsessed". Now, they say you shouldn't laugh at those with "special" problems but I'm sure he just wants to be treated like every other tone-def gay man...so go ahead and laugh!! I must have thee most sucktastic weekends ever!! They never seem to be as fun as I want them to be or as others are. Every time something with potential comes up something else happens to make my plans go awry. I hear all the time of these hugely successful weekends people have and I wonder why I have yet to have those. While I may not want to party every night or get trashed at every party I do want to have a good time. And it really doesnt feel like summer here in NYC at all!! Its raining and chilly!! RIP Michael Jackson: Memorial Highlights

Yesterday was the memorial service for late pop icon Michael Jackson which was aired on tv live from the Staples Center. I watched it and I have to say it was beautifully done. There were performances by Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson and Usher among others.

Also a very beautiful rendition of MJ's huge hit "Heal the World"

However, for most the most touching and poignant part of the memorial service occured in the very last seconds as Jackson's only daughter, Paris Katherina, spoke on her father. I didnt cry during the whole ceremony but this part touched me like no other, it showed that while MJ is the king of pop he was also a father, a "daddy" who was loved by 3 young children. It was the most humanizing thing. Please watch...

For anyone who has ever called Jackson a bad name or person, either out of comedy or not this moment should make you recognize that besides his faults or drama he was a father and a member of a family. Michael Jackson was human too.

And the magnitude of his impact is astounding. He truly was a King.

Recently, Jay-Z came out with D.O.A or Death of Autotunes and everyone was like "Yea Hov. Kill that wack autotunes shit son!!" And so came the swing towards stopping the use/abuse of autotunes and chastising the strong users of it(Ron Browz, DJ Webstar, Weezy, etc.) tho there were many who still valued this voice effect-er(real word?? lol)...And then came Woody.

Im sure you've seen his name on my blog before as producer and also as an artist. Honestly, he's FIRE!! When I first saw him mention his doing a "R.O.A" or "Resurrection of Autotunes" I was like "Noo!! Dont come at Hov" and until hearing it I was scared that he might face some repurcussions. Lol, However, the song is really good. Woody attacked Jay's ideas in a positive way and what he says is all true. I like it....you will too.

I was so excited when I found out Drake was doing a video to his hit song "Best I Ever Had" and it was to be directed by Kanye!! I've been a Drake fan for almost a year now and this is one of my fave songs, having a video attached to it would've made it even better...or so I thought. They released the video today and I must say it is horrible!!! Its extremely misogynistic and unimaginative, Kanye did not do a very good job!! Nor does the video portray any parts of the song unless the song is about bouncing double d's. I really hate to say I hate this video but I honestly expected more from him, and Im sure guys will appreciate this for the sleazy-ness it is but I dont. You guys can watch for yourselves....Im disappointed.

Tonight I had the privelege of going to a show tonight on the east side of Manhattan held byParle Magazine and featuring artist Yung Nate. It seems as tho a lot of these video vixens have, as of late, come out and confessed their "love" of rap and their dream since they were a little girl to be a rapper. How they looked up to Queen Latifah, Lauryn Hill and other MC's for inspiration and saw being eye candy in a video a way of breaking into the industry. You know what I say to that "BullShit". Take "Angel Lola Luv Monroe" a very successful video model turned female "Rapper". Her first single entitled "Boss Bitch" is a representation of a lifestyle she probably never lived. And its a very wack song. Many say, as she has, that she is toning down her sexified image in hopes of being taken seriously, Id say its a little too late for that. After the breast/ass implants and your half naked body in 100's of videos/magazines you will never be taken seriously. Sorry, but its the truth. Not to say that female rappers cant dress sexy and make it (ahem, Lil Kim, Foxy Brown) but these women can also rap. Recently Lola Monroe (yes she has taken on the rap name of a dead white woman. smh) came at another female rapper Nicki Minaj over who was next to take the "female rap throne". I had to laugh. I for one like Nicki Minaj, a lot, I think she makes some good, if slightly vulgar, songs and she can write & sing. Yes, she also uses sex to sell and has been accused of copying Lil Kim(whatever) but I still dig her. Lola Monroe is not Nicki Minaj, she is a video vixen trying to rap not a rapper who is a vixen. Im sick of everyone discussing who will be the next female rap superstar and including the names of these video girls. Lola Monroe will not get past the video ho role, to do so she'd have to spit like Jean Grae which she definitely DOES not. I give Nicki Minaj a good chance of being the next female MC to get big, will she leave a huge impact im not sure, but through her affiliations and lyrics she will get bigger than she is. I feel as tho i've went in many directions with this post but they all lead to one point, a female rapper is not simply a video vixen who can rap. While a rapper may have the sex appeal of these "vixens" she is not someone who has gone the root of selling her body (basically) to get ahead in the business. I was just so put off by people calling Lola Monroe the next female rapper when she obviously sucks. Beautiful girl, horrible rapper. Check out the video if you dont believe me...

Jon & Kate Gosselin have filed for divorce!! I am so sad, truly. I have fallen in Love with this family and have watched them grow over the years, so hearing this is a shame. I dont know who is to blame for this, is it Kate's over-bearing ways, is it Jon's rumored infedility or is it the curse of the reality show/ the media. Perhaps, its all three. These three things probably became to much for parents who also had to deal with 8 very young, personalities. Im kind of hoping that they find the Love that they once had, because I dont beleive that they worked hard at finding a solution. This goes back to my previous post where I discussed our lack of work when it comes to relationships. I really cant call what happened with these guys, I can only feel sad for the 10 people affected by it. And on another note, I cant stand "Aunt Beth" and her husband, selling out family like that. Really, they are not good people what so ever!!!!! ugh Im. gonna watch the "Big Announcement" show at 9, with sad eyes the whole time.

Chris Brown will serve NO Jail time for the beatdown!!

So, Chris Brown copped a plea and he will not be serving any jail time. Damn!! I kinda wanted to hear stories of prisoners making the R&B crooner they lil bitch. Womp. Anyways, Chris Brown was ordered to stay clear of Rihanna and her cock-a-too inspired hair within 50 yards. Im guessing his penis will find a way to get past this. Also, he must serve 180 days of community labor, basically the boy gonn' pick up trash and other shit in his small Virginia town w. the un-pronounecable(def made up this word) name. I doubt that he will actually do this "labor" as im sure he is viewed as a "golden boy". I guess we'll see if Chris can bounce back fully from this scandal. As for his bird of paradise girlfriend, im still over her.

Was doing my daily look through my fave blog sites and saw this on "Bossip.com", new music from Rihanna. I clicked it only because Im not used to hearing about her musically, and I wanted to see if this song was any good. Sadly, it isn't, at least to me anyways. The beat sounds like "Ms. Independent" by Ne-yo and I dont understand what she is saying at all!! After a few listens I realize that she's saying "Te Amo"(which is also the name of the song) however with the way she's singing it sounds a hot mess!! She needs to come better, because people are getting sick of this broad.

I've never been in love. I've never tasted its sweetness nor have I ever felt its warm embrace. Idk why that is, and I'm not going to use this post to try and answer it. I am going to say that a Loving Relationship is the hardest job one can have. I'm so ashamed that the divorce rate in America is steadily rising and the marriage rate isn't. Are we losing our ability to Love?? Are we so consumed with our daily lives that working on a relationship doesn't register high enough?? My hunnybun Troi and I were discussing her relationship w. a certain guy she's liked/talked to for a Lil over a year and she said "if its meant to be its meant to be". Although I've said that many times, when she texted that to me I had to strongly disagree. See, I like the idea of her and the boy together and knowing her I know she doesn't show how much she cares nor does she work at it, she believes that it'll just be there if its supposed to be there. Well I now know that it wont. Building a relationship takes so much work, work that people don't have time for or aren't willing to do. Thats why most relationships fail, people think that its just supposed to work if its real love, when really you have to work at it even if its real love. With anything making it better takes practice, dedication, determination. Athletes don't make it to the top based off of the idea "If it meant to be its meant to be", they work hard at the craft. So maybe we should treat relationships/Love like its a professional sport or a even a job. And if you do it right and try your best you will be rewarded like no other. Let's work on Love...

Its pretty late and with the late hours comes less & less to watch on tv. Right now, im watching "Oxygen" which is now playing "Talk Sex with Sue Johanson". I remember this show from when I was younger and found it soo interesting, but now I just find it weird. This duo consists of an old friend of mine Tyson aka Ty.Philly and his bud Jared aka RED, who blend cool voice effects with catchy lyrics and dope beats. Last night Twitter was going kurazyyy. Why?? Because Hov released a new song (via Hot 97) for his Blueprint 3 album due out on 9/11. Named "DOA" or "Death of Auto tunes"(per Kanye West, who also co-produced, ironic huh), the song was premiered during the Funk Master Flex and Mister Cee radio show and its fire. Of course Funk had to drop a gazillion bombs and talked throughout the playing of it, but the song wasn't overshadowed.

Simply, Hov talks the decline of the hip hop industry due to these auto tuned rappers that seem to be the trend(webstar, browz, etc.) and he killed them with this teaser. RIP

"Slumdog Millionaire" was a huge movie this past year, winning countless
of awards including an Oscar. Its garnered millions of dollars and has
launched careers, so why is it that the children who acted in it are
still in poverty and bad situations. One of the girls is being put up
for sale by her family, another young boy is homeless due to the forced
demelition of his home. That's ridiculous. The movie wasn't costly to
make, yet it grossed so much, can't some of it be shared to help those
who contributed to its success?? There's No reason why those children
need to live in poverty and do it in the spotlight. Its a damn shame.

So, Rihanna has decided to put her "voice" back to use and has teamed up with Lady Gaga for a duet. The song entitled "Silly Boy" is rumored to be about Chris Brown, but since Rihanna doesn't write any of her songs I doubt it is. I truly cant tell which girl is singing at any specific time because the autotunes on this shit is heavy. The songs iight, its not good enough to need two pop starts on it but its a cool jam. Gaga's voice overpowers Rihanna's tho, which isn't a good look for Rihanna. But then again, lately nothing has been. Burn!! lmao

Why SouljaBoy sells...

This may seem kinda weird to post about the success of SouljaBoy after
his former beef partner(??) Charles Hamilton. But the two posts are
nothing alike and all the same so I guess it goes. I was wondering why
is it that someone who doesn't have as much talent as other rappers out
there has made it so big!! And I know what it is, SouljaBoy LISTENS!!!
He listens to the record labels, he listens to the people whose job it
is to sell him, and he listens to his fans. He's smart enough to know
that those people know what is best for his career, and he's allowed
them to do their job. Now, many would call that "selling out" and maybe
it is, but its also SELLING. He may not have the best lyrics or messages
(at all) but he knows that he can't take the reins on the business side,
because that isn't his field. You wouldn't try to be your own lawyer in
a supreme court case, you'd let the best do their job. And that's a
valuable lesson even outside of the music industry. Sometimes humbling
yourself enough to let someone else handle the situation can benefit you
more than you trying to do it yourself....

As of May 13th, 2009 Charles Hamilton has RIP'd Sonic the Hedgehog. Yes,
lets all gasp. Crazy right?? He went hard with that Sonic ish for years,
and now no more. I guess that's a part of growth & change...and that's a
good thing. He's now rockin with the Pink Panther, or something close to
it. Idk. Id rather just have Charles Hamilton in pink. No cartoons
necessary. But, he did say "Charles Hamilton IS back!!" on his blog...I
wonder when he went away and if we even know him. Hmmm...

Love Recession

Im watching this show on VH1 "Daisy of Love" and of course like all of
VH1's other shows its about a "celebrity" finding "love". Daisy de la
Hoya is apparently a white transgender with a fake spanish last name who
got her heart broken by Bret Micheals on the show "Rock of Love" and is
looking for "love" from 13 douchebags. Its so fake. Really. Its ALL so
fake. She's very fake. And so are the guys. All of these shows are
simply making "Love" a marketing tool, and are a direct reason why
divorce rates are going up(lol. Not proven). Ok, maybe not directly a
reason but im sure that they've caused the value of Love to go down. Its
like we're in a "Love Recession". The Love stock has gone down because
of shows like this. And im sick of it, becuase while I do find them
entertaining I am also annoyed by them.

Im also annoyed by sites like Match.com, eharmony & chemistry.com. What
happened to meeting people sans television and expensive websites. Why
can't people just find Love, why must we have Love found for us?? Have
we really gotten so consumed with our own lives that the task has become
a bother, so we have someone else do it for us?? There was Love before
these things, right?? So why can't there be Love without them...

This is coming from someone who's never been in Love...lol

So im sitting on the train thinking (I do some of my best thinking on
the train) about our race. No, not black people, but humans. There will
be a day when we no longer exist, that day could be in 10 years, 100
years, or 1000, but it will come*. There's a show coming on the Histosy
channel I believe, and its about what happens after us, it looks cool.
But its also scary. Im not much into a religion and I always wonder
where we come from, how & why did we form?? See, religion answers these
questions, so the religion-less are left with unanswered questions. And
truthfully, I don't want to think enough to answer them, because with
that thinking might come paranoia and other stresses. Life is such a
mystery, we are such a puzzle, will we ever be solved??

Wisdom. Jay Blade, PA where ya at?? Lol. I need ya for this one:
Will a guy ever really Love a girl who lets them cheat on them and still
stays loyal?? A girl who no matter how obvious it is that he's with 2 or
more girls besides her (and he's never claimed her) still stays and is
dramatic for him. Why would he find that attractive?? And what kind of
guy would even want to cheat on someone who loves them?? Btw the people
I've seen in this situation are young like younger than 20.

Answer if yall can (in depth). Im really interested. Because I've seen

Today was crazy, and it was all due to this little ol' blog of mine. Apparently some things I've said in my posts have gotten under people's skin. I had this whole big post written out that I was gonna call people out on, but I've decided against it. See, while I was writing it "Think Twice" by Yung Nate, Charles Hamilton & SHow TuFli was playing. I took that as a sign, and decided not to post it. Its truly not worth it. They say that you should choose your battles wisely, and this isn't a battle that I want to fight because I have already won. Im growing up, Im learning and Im happy, if that isn't winning then idk what is. So to the person(s) who took offense to my post, sorry that you did. That wasn't my intention. Or maybe it was and I just didn't know it...Lol. It was really just a vent for me...I like to vent...
