So I guess the "Air Yeezys" came out today, (yesterday??) and peopel are feinin for em. Why?? They are surely overpriced sneakers that are made for 3bucks over in Malaysia and sold to dumb ass niggas for $200+. Im so sick of seeing niggas in the hood with Montclairs, Prada sneakers, Gucci belts yet they ass still living in the projects. Maybe its the way I was brought up. My ma didn't spend what she didn't have on me. I see white people who dress their kids in Walmart fashions and while there child may not be the most "poppin" shit in the playground they mortgaged is paid off and they have savings. Its really ridiculous. Black people will buy their kids every Playstation that ever came out, all the new Jordans, expensive jeans all the time but they wont save up for a house to get out of le ghetto. ugh!! This has always irked me, partly because I was jealous of kids who had mad shit but as I got older I recognized it as a problem that needs to be fixed. What do you think??

But according to Mediatakeout.com, CB has reached a plea deal that would involve "jail time". Well, I guess that is the right thing to do, he did go Winky Wright on Rihanna's face. Its not funny, yet still I release a couple "hahas". Maybe its because now that Rihanna has gone back to wearing her designer duds the world has gone back to not caring about domestic violence. Its a damn shame. She hasn't even spoken about domestic violence, not one word on how to prevent it, how women facing it can get out, etc... So this guy on Facebook hit me up on chat and started talking to me and shit. I normally ignore but his lucky ass musta caught me in a good mood. Lol. So we're talking and its obvious he's a HUGE fan of Demevolist. Not too surprised, they hot shitt!! lol...I felt like I needed to post for this kid, he's mad cool. So I shall.

He emailed me this long ass(but very detailed)bio, pssh, my ass to lazy to write all that. lol. The important shit is this kid is determined. He's 18 from D.C, he's a Kanye lover, first rap song he ever memorized was "Through the Wire"(lovess it). Besides Kanye, P.A is influenced by Lupe, Common, Ludacris, T.I and Charles Hamilton. He plans to release a mixtape called "One Man Duet" in July 09 and later(in 2010?? Naw kid...09) a series of mixtapes based off of the "Amazing Spiderman" comic books a la Charles le Hamilton. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention kid has a "Spiderman" obsession!! lol...I really dont get guys & their characters. At all. lol

Obama Fried Chicken: Rascist or Genius??

Recently two "chicken spots" in Harlem and BK have renamed their stores to "Obama Fried Chicken" and with some it has caused an uproar. However, I don't see the problem. Living in Harlem I see "Lincoln Fried Chicken"(dumbb good on 125th & bway) and "Kennedy Fried Chicken", everyday. They were both named after presidents that resonate with black people and only use the name for profit. Is it not the same with Obama?? People are saying that it is rascist. How?? Because he's black and therefore he must like fried chicken?? Now that's rascist. They are simply using a popular name to increase business in a black neighborhood. Someone said "Well if McCain had won they wouldn't call the spot "McCain Fried Chicken" Hell fuckin naw they wouldn't, I don't think anyone would open a business in a predominantly black neighborhood and name it after someone they have a negative history with (don't see any "Jim Crow Chinese food places) That isn't good business strategy. Now, I must say that its very soon to be naming chicken spots after Obama, but hey, they saw an oppurtunity & seized it. We should be admiring their business skills. I see no rascism here and am not offended. Its really only rascist when the steretype that black people love fried chicken comes into play, and, that aint a sterotype. We do LOVE us some fried chicken, and I know Obama loves fried chicken too!! LOL

START. Time for a motherfuckin rant.
So im on the A train heading uptown frm work & as I told ya b4 I like to ride trains & think. I don't like for guys to try & talk 2 me. So im sitting, thinking and a pass-over dude comes on train. He soon makes a beeline for the seat next 2 me. There's a newspaper on it(who's article I just finished reading. Gun slinging granny?? CIGAOww...lmao) & he's like gesturin 4 me to move it. Im like "w.e" so I lift it up, cuz he's obviously mentally retarded, and there's gum on the seat. I tell him, he retreats & winds up standing. Ok, back to staring out the window rite?? Wrong. Nigga asks me "so did u have a productive day??" I dryly answer "yea". Im sure he can tell by my tone that I don't want to be bothered. But he's definitely tone deaf, so he says "what is ur career, are you reaching ur goal??" I say "im a student" patient I am so I answer tho extra dry. Next, "oh what's ur major??" I lie & say im undecided. "Oh so, liberal arts??". "Yea". Nigga goes "oh sorry if im bothering you" I don't protest because he is and say "yea after work I usually don't want to talk. Id rather just sit & think" so he goes "oh im sorry I thought u were friendly". Yea, he thinks that's gonna make me explain myself & say how friendly I am. But naw. I aint got the energy. So I sit & think. Yay.

So then this puerto rican guy comes on & dudes like "what do u do?? How much do u make?? Are u ambittous?? Are u reachin ur goals?? Blah blah" so im laughing inwardly b/c nigga sayin he bout to run a multimillion dollar company. Lmao. If you wulda seen his ass u wuld know why im laughing. Its after my birthday, so I can still imagine T.I coming to me with nothing but whipped cream on & my fantasy not be set in a cage!! (Although that does sound kinda fun ;]) But im still sad to see him go...

I ride the subway everyday...yea I have an unlimited & I use it to thee fullest!! Lol..I also enjoy takin trains. Like MIA, "sometimes I think sitting on trains." And I enjoy it. Maybe its the rythmic motion of the train as it move along the tracks or it could be all the darkness I see as I stare out the windows. I sometimes contemplate riding the train to the last stop just so I can sit & think...I haven't done it yet. But maybe one day...

What's that Fuckin Noise?!?!

I'm a weirdo. Self-confessed. Loves it. Being the weirdo I am, I tend to do unusual things. My biggest thing has been to make weird noises avec my mouth. lol...not on some freaky shit. But yea, mouth noises. My fave things to do is to make the "creaking door" sound, lol. Its cool, I've learned how to vary the pitch & shit. Master. This sound was especially cool in French class...when it was just mad quiet I'd just start doing that noise. Teacher would be like "Whats that noise?!?" And since I can do it without the need to move my mouth no one ever knew it was me. FUN!!! lol


I also do this weird spit squirting thing. Feelin like a pause is necessary. PAUSE. lol But naw this sound is cool. Idk how to describe it, a kind of squirt-y sound. lol *shrugs*...This is prolly thee most annoying since whenever I do it people give me nasty looks. lmao fuckers!!

Maybe I'm just dirty...

Soooo I always find myself scavenging on my kitchen late at night looking, unsuccessfully, for fodder. lol...so tonight is no different. I look in the cabinets, we have a lot of nothing. Stupid Chef Boyardee type shits for my bro, Poptarts and pulpo(octupus). I check the fridge, again nothing I want. So I check the freezer, though I know i'm not in the mood to cook anything, and I see a box of Popsicles. Nothing special, right?? WRONG!! These were special Popsicles Firecrackers with an exploding tip!!

First thing I thought of was sexual and very dirty. But who wouldn't. Popsicles are already sexual, suck a long, hard ice-y thing...yea. But these took it to a whole 'nother level. They are HUGE for one and the exploding tip(pop rock type candy shit I presume) just took the sexual innuendos to a new level. lmao.

"Transformers" much??

So, I know we've all seem them, they come out of nowhere and although we aren't the ones they after we kinda feel like criminals. I'm talking about the new undercover cars that the NY PD seems to be using like no tomorrow. They got yellow taxis, livery cabs, Luxury cars, Navigator trucks, Camry's...the list goes on. I feel violated by it. I'm not a criminal (weed is legal, ain't it??) but its just such a violation of some amendment, like they just come out of nowhere. I'm standing on the corner of 125Th & St. nick & like 2 cars transform like fucking well, Transformers, into a blur of lights and the deafening sound of sirens. Its ridiculous, there has to be some sort of law that prohibits this.

There must be a limit to the type of unmarked police cars you can have. And if there isn't then I propose we try to get one enacted. The point is, while there is a lot of voilence in the city we as citizens have a right to know what/who is watching us...and that includes the people we expect to protect us. Im kinda feeling that this is part of the "Patriot Act" that we were soo quick to get enacted after 9/11...smh...they got us again...

So Yesterday I felt like a beastmaster. Why?? Because I was literally waiting for 12m for Demevolist to drop their new shit "First Order of Business". I loved "Ayo! These Niggas Went Hollywood", so I was this would be thee same!!

I got it a little after 12, big-up to Likkle Miss at Looseneck.com, and I have to say its pretty cool. They've only dropped the first disc entitled "Plan", its consistent with the theme of the album.

I like to give my favorite tracks off of every album I review. I've already told you of my love for "Forever" and "So Fresh, So Fly" but I'm also IN LOVE with "She Got That". The song features Yung Nate, Show Tufli & Charles Hamilton, Three of my faves from Demev.

Its a somber love song and when I asked Nate about it he said that he wrote it at a sad time in his life(hope you dont mind). The recurring words in the chorus are "Baby can I be the one, I gotta know..."..

You also have to check out "Barely Legal" with Jmeans & Show Tufli and "Home" feat. B/A, Proven and Yung Nate. ...I cant wait for Disc 2!!

This is why I lost the Spelling Bee...

I couldn't spell "Beautiful" until I was around 17. Stupid right?? I learned from Jim Carrey in the funny ass movie "Bruce Almighty"...you know how his character goes "b-e-a-utiful..."(if not press play on the video. Lol).
Funny thing, I didn't start feeling beautiful until I learned how to spell it....

I've always thought that I was psychic and that I saw signs. Not like I saw ghosts or could communicate with the dead, but I've always had feelings. I grew up in a household where unorthodox Catholicism was practiced by my grandma; voodoo dolls, prayers, fortune-telling...yea. I was also never really into church or organized religion, I was(and still am) a very free spirit)...but I digress.

I always had Deja Vu when I was younger, Maybe once or twice a day...always!! but I never took it for anything. I could also hear peoples thoughts, well not "hear" but i'd sometimes start singing a song or say something to someone and they say "Um, I was just singing that in my head" or "How'd you know I said that in my head." Happened with my cuz before: We were on the fone and she was with a friend. She was saying something about him and I blurted out "ha ha!! he's a fruitcake!!" she said "Wait, how'd you know he was gay??" I said, "Didn't you just say he was??" she said, "No. I said it in my head. I ain't wanna say it aloud cuz he's right here." We were both freaking out to say the least. lmao

So yea, I'm always saying to people "This happened before" and I'm always met with quizzical & confused looks. lmao

Signs:
I see signs all around me. Recently its been towards one person. And its caused me to break down once (I was high) lol. We'll call him, Joe Boxer. lol So, I was feeling Joe Boxer(for a while) & Joe was feeling me. Joe's psychic too. So I'd see so many signs and one night when I smoked the white people's weed (that good shit, good looks ant) I broke down in my cousin's dorm. Why?? Because Joe was everywhere!!! lol. I look on the ipod & there's Joe's fave song. Then I say "Hi" to Ant's roommate and there's a big jersey hanging up with "Boxer" on the back. Then Joe's favorite star comes on TV & then Joe's...omg too much!! Weird huh?? There were so many more signs but due to my state those freaked me out the most. (I think weed makes you even more psychic)...lmao

So, I'm usually not into the sporty look but I visited the Rugby store and fell in love...Yes, its that serious. Now I cant see myself spending the 90 bucks on some of the Polo's but this is worth every penny....
Its the Rugby "Ginny Cotton Ruffled Dress". Ain't it nice?? Its a regular Rugby style cotton dress which I'd normally never go for but the details make it extra cute!! Foremost, it has a very cute white ruffle going down the placket and a flower where the Rugby crest would normally be!! Any one who knows me knows that I adore Flowers!!! See pic at right.

Now at around $129 its something I'd know I have to make sure I wear. Lol. I will tho!! I already know how my hair is gonna look & what shoes I could wear with it. Lol...I'm a planner :-)

While the original boasts a slow beat with an extremely annoying "squeezy" type thingy, lol, the remix enhances the lyrics & dancecibility(idk) of the song. The beat is iight, but thats it.
The rock sounds added to it just makes it sound hardcore; like "Hell yea I am jumping out the window with this one!!" With the original I may open the window but I'd def be staying on the ledge. lmao.
The video is also better than the first, which sporst the usual girls dancing & making "sexy" faces in the camera. Yea, it was very original.

Pretty Pink Roses...

I just finished this novel a few days ago, it was an easy read but it packed a lot of cultural punch. The novel by, Laura Fitzgerald, follows Tamila Soroush an Iranian woman who on a 3-month guest visa goes to America in search of love, well not love moreso marriage so that she can stay in America.

Horribly sickened by her country she dreams of a place where woman won't have to wear headscarves and the chadors of the religous regime.

Once in America, Tami is overwhlemed by the freedoms, simple acts that we take for granted are to her sacred and somewhat scary. She still harbors fears of Iran and lives everyday with the thought of returning.

The book takes Tami through love, lust, and pain. Although it has an expected ending its no less a good book.

Give it a try, I know there's a little bit of Love living inside...

So I graduated class of '08, and its def my duty to share with you some talent from my year. first up, Terrence Stewart. I remember this kid fondly, he's mad nice & I rarely saw him without a smile.

He's fucking focused too, he knows what he wants to do with his life and thats be a rapper. Well, he's already a rapper but Im sure he wants to ger better and make it to the top. I dont doubt his ability to do so either, Im new to his music but its poppinnn!! lol...

He put out a mixtape coolly named,"Alumni Swagger" which he handed to me when i visited the school a few weeks ago. Upon opening it I realized the cd case was empty, lol...he quickly handed me a different one. Yes, nigga is stocked up (pause??), carry them shits with him.

Memorable songs include "Kisan's song" (a HS friend of ours)which is layed over Charles Hamilton's "Brooklyn Girls" beat. Its a cute sonng!! I also like "One more time once more", especially where he talks of his fave teacher Ms. Rodriguez and how she cared when no one else seemed to. He also has a deep song with Charles and my friend David(both alumni of FDA) named "Win or Lose".

Yea, bottom line this kid is grindin' and doin his thang...Now who was it that said '08 was a bunch of fuck ups?? Fuck Outta Heree!! lmao

While I enjoy the whole thing my faves are "Toya", "Shantel" & "Simone". why, well because...


"Toya" samples West's "So Amazing" and has some memorable lines such as: "...But her head made me asian, it was, so amazin, so amazin, so amazin...". Lmao. The end only sheds more light on Toya's amazing head game. “Toya I care about you, I really do, but you know your head is retarded." lmfaoo

"Shantel", a really deep one, samples "Welcome to Heartbreak". The lyrics are real and so is Charles's explanation for them. Thumbs Up. lol

"Simone"'s beat is crazyy, its the one you can bounce to(well at least i do...lol). I have a lot of songs where Charles talks of his relationship with her ("The Honeymoon's Over", amazing) so in a way I feel a strong connection to this song. lol... Sampling "AnyWay". The chorus touches home, "...nightmares suck and daydreams are nothing." Yea. I agree.

Doll Face!!

So I've gotten bitten by the "reading Bug", again, and have decided to share my experiences with the novels with you guys. The first book I'll give a report on is the "Valley of the Dolls" by Jacqueline Susann.

First published in 1966, the novel takes you through to twisted lives of 3 young woman. The first character we are introduced to is Anne Wells, an New England beauty who moved to New York to escape her boring homestead. Her storyline is one that focuses on finding love rather than on getting ahead in her career; unlike beautiful Jennifer North, who stops at nothing to reach stardom. Next is naive Nelle O'Hara, a young girl who has been in the show business all her life.

The 3 woman are bound by their own misery and from this a friendship ensues. Misery isn't the only uniting force between these women, their addictions to downers, "Dolls", also enhance(or in many ways detracts) the relationships. The novel shows excellently how women are affected by love, success, and addiction, all in different yet totally similar ways.

While the back cover of the book promises it to be scandalous and filled with sexuality, however readers today will probably find it tame. Remember it was written in the 60's. lol

This isn't a post to summarize the book, I just hope that this makes you want to read it for yourself. :-)

Define this for me...

its late & im VERY bored. The logical thing for someone in my state to do would be to find something to do. I have. And nothing seems to solve my boredom, if anything im becoming more bored by looking for things to do. so im going to write a blog that probably goes in circles with no discerning point. BUT, i dont care!! this si my blog, & besides i only have 1 follower. shoutouts to St. Villy. LOL

-so a few things have been on my mind lately. actually more than a few, but whatever. ive been thinking a lot about this thing called "Love". (thats a lie, it seems that all i ever do is think of love.) I dotn mean thinking about finding love, moreso thinking of it in many different ways. Ive always believed that Love simply occured when people got comfortable with someone & therefore lost their will to keep searching for the one. And most days i still believe that this is what Love is. However, through talks with many of my friends & conversations with music, ive come to take on other views of this beautiful thing (or perhaps its a vile, monster who knows) and have realized that whatever "love" is has NO preset definition. Now if you look up "love" in the dictionary youll find many definitions written by people who probably loved at one point in their life yet, even these are incorrect definitions. OK, well maybe not incorrect but those definitions CANT define love for a whole world of people. Partly because Love isnt a word. its an action. And actions are hard to define.

Inauguration...

Wow!! That's one word to describe the multitude of emotione I've had today. Pride is another. Pride in my country & pride in the leader of it. Many have said that Obama is simply a pop fad, but I disagree. He's more than a phase, more than someone whom the youth has grabbed onto because of his cool & new-ness...he's inspirational. He's a man who no matter ur ethnicity you can look up to & believe him. Writing this almost makes me cry when I think of the impact this has had on us. I, at first, was extremely doubtful of his abilities & was one of the people who thought he was a celebrity. But he won me over w. His eloquent & meaningful speeches and his impending impact he'd have. I truly never thought that id see anyone but a white person as president, im glad I was proved wrong. Im also so ecstatic that my little brother, who's 5, will look in a history book & see someone who looks like him...(really, my bro looks JUST like Obama. Its the ears!! Lol babybama!!)

New Year, New Me??

It seems that the new year always brings about the need to change ones self. We make resolutions that we vow to keep, we say that we're going to rid ourself of negative influences & that overall our lives will be better. We have the motto "New year, New me" and believe that the changing year on the calendat also marks a change in ourselves. Yet, by Febuary we are doing the same things we did last September, eating the same fattening foods, hanging with the same people & we are the same person that we were just a month ago. Then upon realization of our failure we start to not care and become certain that next year we are definitely going to change. We make pacts that we promise to keep, and we hope that when the ball drops we also light up with a new self. But, we know that's not going to happen. Change doesn't happen like that. A new You doesn't develop in two weeks, so all that "its 09 & im on my new shit" is dumb. Since most people are still doing the same things that they were in 08. Idk, I just get sick of this crap. In febuary when im looking at my Aim buddy list I know im going to have Deja Vu when being nosey & reading peoples' aways....
On that note...its '09 & im actin brand new ;-)

Uh, I had to do something else...

Ok, so voting registration deadlines are approaching and after a much hyped and media discussed presidential campaign i am expecting to see a tremendous decrease of non-voting Americans. About 8 million Blacks are not registered to vote. They make up part of the 55 million Americans not registered. Now we have all seen the "Obama for your Mama" t-shirts, have all seen aways with "Barack & Roll" in them, and have all witnessed heated debates between Dems and Reps. yet we still fail to lend ourselves to where it really counts. For all the hype that surrounds this race you would think that there'd be more voter registration, so much that they would run out of space. But no there isn't. It may be that the same people who scream "Obamaaaaaa" have yet to file their forms and that those who worship Mccain as the war veteran who's policies will change America that say when voting is over & they are dissatisfied that the reason they didnt vote is because they had something better to do or they couldnt get to a voting site in time or they didnt have time to fill out a voter registration form because the DMV is 50 miles from thier house. And I'm not one to say you MUST vote, but if you campaign for some hard bodyy then you should vote for that person if you can. so if you ever rocked an Obama shirt from Urban outfitters or a Mccain pin on your book bag your ass better be at those damn polls. sadly tho, as we've seen in past elections many Americans won't vote. So, we've go t2 days left...we shall wait & see what its gonna look like at them polls.....

Brooklyn Girls...

So I keep listening to my new fave song "Brooklyn Girls" by Charles Hamilton and the more I do the more offended I become!! why?? Mostly at the line "They aint nutin like them Brooklyn Girls"...I dont think BK girls are thattt poppin!! lol(no offence Feiker!!). I think the problem is that Manhattan girls, or Harlem chicks more specificcaly, are a lot lazier than girks from BK. -I am totally not mentioning girls from Queens or any of the other 2 boroughs because BK girls are better than them ;-]) I think it comes from us being from Manhattan, NEW YORK CITY!! Everywhere we are held as thee NYC, and therefore have gained some cocky-ness from it. Brooklyn girls have more to prove, i mean up until the new millennium they were famous for bad accents and bad neighborhoods. We Harlemnites have been basking in popularity for years now, and as well deserved as it is, us girls have lost some of our go-getter mentality. Thats why Brooklyn girls, as well as their borough(hello, Williamsburg is poppin) have gotten this far. So i wanna use this song as momentum for us Manhattan girls, from Wall Street to Inwood, to stand up. Put some effort back in your game...we cant let these other boroughs take our throne!!

on a roll...

so last night i had a great convo with my new friend and past movie date ,Tarik(im not sure if i speleed name right. there are debates. LOL), and he asked where i saw myself in 5 years. as cliche as this damn question is it doesn't stop being asked of us 16-21 year olds as a way to make sure we have our head son right. well, i for one HATE this fucking question!!! i mean when someone asks this do they not understand that not all of us have ESP(psychic) powers?? And when people truly try to answer this do they not feel like an ass for pretending that they can see into the future. ok, so when Tarik asked this i laughed out loud because as used to hearing it as i was its never ceases to amaze me. to answer his question i said that im the type if person that sees how i can improve myself NOW, because what you do NOW obviously impacts where you will be 5 years from now. he liked that answer. that was cool. but many dont, some people think that if you dont plan ahead you wont get far. but i disagree. it is stupid, for lack of a better word, to live 5,10,15 years from now especially when you could be gone 5,10,15 minutes from now...i dont know, maybe its the free-spirit in me but i that i need to live in the present before i live in the future. and i know that my kind will probably be president or something of that nature for our lack of planning but so FUCKING WHAT!! thats not where i see myself in 5 years anywayss ;-)

Im Grown Now....

i haven't blogged in a while. it seemed that my blogging obsession was a fad like many things that i tend to do. i must have the shortest attention span, i seem to lose interest in things so easily. however, i know that the reason i start things and never seem to finish or quit when it starts to get hard is because i have a fear of losing. I'm trying to work on that. this summer was one that had a lot of growth. i wasn't ready for a lot of things prior to the summer, especially college. that's y i took a semester off. sounds cliche but, it truly was to "find" myself. and i think if my self was a 100-piece puzzle that I've found 68 pieces. why 68?? i have no idea,lol...it seems suitable.

OK, I'm rambling. and I'm scared to go back and read what i wrote because i KNOW that it has shit loads of grammatical errors...lmao!! bottom line, main idea, point blank...I've grown!! and I'm proud of myself...i got my shit together and although i may have taken the road less traveled (owww R. Frost =]) i wouldn't make a u-turn for shit!! my path is my own, and if it seems off the beaten paths then so be it...
