Its pretty late and with the late hours comes less & less to watch on tv. Right now, im watching "Oxygen" which is now playing "Talk Sex with Sue Johanson". I remember this show from when I was younger and found it soo interesting, but now I just find it weird. I wonder who thought to gine this old, grandma type woman a show in which she explicitly discusses sex. I wouldnt want to talk to my grandma about sex, so why would I want to talk to her. Id rather a woman whos middle aged and sexy, someone who looks like they still have sex!! Lol. I know that she's very qualified for this, but still...its weird. Well, apparently for new rap star Drake its "hip hop" after a cosign from the big man himself today, Hova(per Hot 97)!! Yea, Hov is riding with Drake, and it looks as if light skin is back in!! Yes!! I was tired of pretending I was attracted to Lil Wayne. lol...i kid i kid. Well in all honesty Drake is the new face of what good hip hop should be. Yea, I think Drake is a good artist. Im not the biggest fan of autotunes but I am a fan of creative people, and MilkMen are just that. This duo consists of an old friend of mine Tyson aka Ty.Philly and his bud Jared aka RED, who blend cool voice effects with catchy lyrics and dope beats. Having teamed up with the Trak Dealaz their first mixtape smartly entitled "Where's the Cereal" is fire and has some great songs. And as much as they have used autotunes the quality of the music isn't lost. This ish sure aint no "Dancing on Me" wackness...lol

New Music: "DOA": Jay-Z

Last night Twitter was going kurazyyy. Why?? Because Hov released a new song (via Hot 97) for his Blueprint 3 album due out on 9/11. Named "DOA" or "Death of Auto tunes"(per Kanye West, who also co-produced, ironic huh), the song was premiered during the Funk Master Flex and Mister Cee radio show and its fire. Of course Funk had to drop a gazillion bombs and talked throughout the playing of it, but the song wasn't overshadowed. 

Simply, Hov talks the decline of the hip hop industry due to these auto tuned rappers that seem to be the trend(webstar, browz, etc.) and he killed them with this teaser. RIP

So, one of Charles Hamilton's songs off of his first album "This Perfect Life" got leaked earlier this week and I just got a chance to listen to it. Aptly named "Rosado" (What did you expect, azul?? lol) Song is pretty darn cool!! Sad Really...

"Slumdog Millionaire" was a huge movie this past year, winning countless
of awards including an Oscar. Its garnered millions of dollars and has
launched careers, so why is it that the children who acted in it are
still in poverty and bad situations. One of the girls is being put up
for sale by her family, another young boy is homeless due to the forced
demelition of his home. That's ridiculous. The movie wasn't costly to
make, yet it grossed so much, can't some of it be shared to help those
who contributed to its success?? There's No reason why those children
need to live in poverty and do it in the spotlight. Its a damn shame.
And im truly disgusted at the people who spend the money from that movie
everyday with no thought of those who have none of it to spend.

So, Rihanna has decided to put her "voice" back to use and has teamed up with Lady Gaga for a duet. The song entitled "Silly Boy" is rumored to be about Chris Brown, but since Rihanna doesn't write any of her songs I doubt it is. I truly cant tell which girl is singing at any specific time because the autotunes on this shit is heavy. The songs iight, its not good enough to need two pop starts on it but its a cool jam. Gaga's voice overpowers Rihanna's tho, which isn't a good look for Rihanna. But then again, lately nothing has been. Burn!! lmao

Why SouljaBoy sells...

This may seem kinda weird to post about the success of SouljaBoy after
his former beef partner(??) Charles Hamilton. But the two posts are
nothing alike and all the same so I guess it goes. I was wondering why
is it that someone who doesn't have as much talent as other rappers out
there has made it so big!! And I know what it is, SouljaBoy LISTENS!!!
He listens to the record labels, he listens to the people whose job it
is to sell him, and he listens to his fans. He's smart enough to know
that those people know what is best for his career, and he's allowed
them to do their job. Now, many would call that "selling out" and maybe
it is, but its also SELLING. He may not have the best lyrics or messages
(at all) but he knows that he can't take the reins on the business side,
because that isn't his field. You wouldn't try to be your own lawyer in
a supreme court case, you'd let the best do their job. And that's a
valuable lesson even outside of the music industry. Sometimes humbling
yourself enough to let someone else handle the situation can benefit you
more than you trying to do it yourself....

As of May 13th, 2009 Charles Hamilton has RIP'd Sonic the Hedgehog. Yes,
lets all gasp. Crazy right?? He went hard with that Sonic ish for years,
and now no more. I guess that's a part of growth & change...and that's a
good thing. He's now rockin with the Pink Panther, or something close to
it. Idk. Id rather just have Charles Hamilton in pink. No cartoons
necessary. But, he did say "Charles Hamilton IS back!!" on his blog...I
wonder when he went away and if we even know him. Hmmm...

Love Recession

Im watching this show on VH1 "Daisy of Love" and of course like all of
VH1's other shows its about a "celebrity" finding "love". Daisy de la
Hoya is apparently a white transgender with a fake spanish last name who
got her heart broken by Bret Micheals on the show "Rock of Love" and is
looking for "love" from 13 douchebags. Its so fake. Really. Its ALL so
fake. She's very fake. And so are the guys. All of these shows are
simply making "Love" a marketing tool, and are a direct reason why
divorce rates are going up(lol. Not proven). Ok, maybe not directly a
reason but im sure that they've caused the value of Love to go down. Its
like we're in a "Love Recession". The Love stock has gone down because
of shows like this. And im sick of it, becuase while I do find them
entertaining I am also annoyed by them.

Im also annoyed by sites like Match.com, eharmony & chemistry.com. What
happened to meeting people sans television and expensive websites. Why
can't people just find Love, why must we have Love found for us?? Have
we really gotten so consumed with our own lives that the task has become
a bother, so we have someone else do it for us?? There was Love before
these things, right?? So why can't there be Love without them...

Don't you ever wonder...

So im sitting on the train thinking (I do some of my best thinking on
the train) about our race. No, not black people, but humans. There will
be a day when we no longer exist, that day could be in 10 years, 100
years, or 1000, but it will come*. There's a show coming on the Histosy
channel I believe, and its about what happens after us, it looks cool.
But its also scary. Im not much into a religion and I always wonder
where we come from, how & why did we form?? See, religion answers these
questions, so the religion-less are left with unanswered questions. And
truthfully, I don't want to think enough to answer them, because with
that thinking might come paranoia and other stresses. Life is such a
mystery, we are such a puzzle, will we ever be solved??

Wisdom. Jay Blade, PA where ya at?? Lol. I need ya for this one:
Will a guy ever really Love a girl who lets them cheat on them and still
stays loyal?? A girl who no matter how obvious it is that he's with 2 or
more girls besides her (and he's never claimed her) still stays and is
dramatic for him. Why would he find that attractive?? And what kind of
guy would even want to cheat on someone who loves them?? Btw the people
I've seen in this situation are young like younger than 20.

Today was crazy, and it was all due to this little ol' blog of mine. Apparently some things I've said in my posts have gotten under people's skin. I had this whole big post written out that I was gonna call people out on, but I've decided against it. See, while I was writing it "Think Twice" by Yung Nate, Charles Hamilton & SHow TuFli was playing. I took that as a sign, and decided not to post it. Its truly not worth it. They say that you should choose your battles wisely, and this isn't a battle that I want to fight because I have already won. Im growing up, Im learning and Im happy, if that isn't winning then idk what is. So to the person(s) who took offense to my post, sorry that you did. That wasn't my intention. Or maybe it was and I just didn't know it...Lol. It was really just a vent for me...I like to vent...

100th Post!!

Im at my 100th post!! Yay!! Now many people might not think its a lot but I feel accomplished. I've had a habit of giving up things after a while. And im glad I haven't given this up, new leaf has turned(really idk wat that means, lol). Also, when I logged into my blog account I see I have 16 follower!! Go mee!! Im very excited everytime I get a new one b/c there are soo many blogs out there and someone chose mine. Loll

I kept thinking about what I should do for my 100th post, and I couldn't think of anything. Lol...figures. I hope that ill continue to gain more followers and they'll give me their ideas and opinions. Wisdom, thanks for your input on that last post. Normal vs. Wierd??

What is normal?? What is weird?? These are questions asked by society everyday and never is there a good enough answer. I mean, who decides these things?? Do the "normal" people dictate what is weird?? Or is it from the actions of the "weridos" that what's normal is determined. And then, how do we decide where we fit?? I find myself to be pretty normal, yet everyone else finds me weird. And now, being "weird" is normal. Its all very confusing. So readers please leave your commentary on this subject. What do you think is normal or weird?? And how do you determine it??

Spotlight: D-Ferg

As you know, I've wanted to start spotlight different up and coming artists. I planned on doing it weekly but idk if that'll work out...lol. So, this week im posting on a new friend of mine who's an amazing artist, D-Ferg. We have mutuall friends and hes tried to steal my gf from me(FAIL) lol, so we're connected. Im sure that I knew about him before, perhaps through my old Myspace "nosy-ness" lol.

Anyways, he's from Harlem, and was heavily influence by the style of the N.E.R.D dudes "...more than just kids with skater style...it was a statment of the freedom to be different". He attended the highschool of art and design where he studied abstract art & fashion. Poppin. He's also interned for Sean John & helped his dad(who's since passed) with a t-shirt business that catered to hiphop celebs. He hopes that in the future he'll have a succesful clothing line, DEVONI. Im uber happy that I did this post, to know a kid so motivated to do what he loves is amazing. Mad thumbs up to you Kid!! Lol

Drake interview on Power 105.1 with DJ Clue!!

So I rarely listen to the radio, for when I do im usually disappointed by what I hear. So im in my moms truck today, radio's tuned to Power 105.1 and I hear a song start playing, im like "wait, I know this song..." and its a Drake song from his lovely mixtape "So Far Gone" that I posted on previously. Do I really want to swallow this??

I watch a lot of tv, not ashamed, tv is interesting. However, I am annoyed by most commercials especially those for medications. There always so corny, showing pastoral images of white (and sometimes black) people running slowly through perfect fields!! How sweet, right?? No!! Well, yes. But the sweetness ends as soon as the mysterious voice discusses all the harmful side effects of the medication. Example: "This medication may cause death, nausea, headaches. In some cases changes in bowel movements, muscle aches, ulcers and kidney stones have occured." Like, who wants to hear that?? You show this great image & then this roll call of harmful aspects of the shit. Like I know that there are negative things that accompany these things but hearing it, rather than seeing, isn't attractive. Makes me not wanna even swallow. Lol

Why do I do this to myself...

So, last night I got my 3rd tattoo avec mon ami Siara. I went to the only place I've ever gone, Concrete Jungle on 125th street. So after a loooong ass wait its my turn. Im kinda nervous cuz I want a flower on my inner arm but Ive heard that that spot hurts like hell!! But, w.e Ima do it. aitn no pussy. lol...so I get in chair. The tattooer(who's already tatted me) is like "yo the inner arm is gonna hurt like hell. Im just gonan be honest. I almost didnt wanna finish my tat." I was like "wtf. I dont wanna do it now!!" Why im still single...

I feel like all my single girlfriends are looking for boyfriends, someone to fill that "void" that society says we have when not in a relationship. I admit, I was/ still am at times looking to fill that "void". I've gone through my fair share of guys(though I've had only 2 bfs). There was Sammy, who I "dated" for years in elementary & middle school till some fat bitch named letoya stole him(this seems to be a trend, fat bitches lol). Then in highschool I was such a nerd!! Ugh!! I dated this white guy who didn't go to my school named JP. That was a fail and I choose not to recognize him anymore. Lol...got a friend out of it tho. Love u Steph!! After him I developed a hugee crush on Anthony, went hard. But since he's a quiet dude and im hyper that simmered. So, I went to his best friend. No not on some "can't have you gona have your friend shit" but I liked his friend since like first day of school. Yea Miguel was my highschool crush. But wait, I've jumped the gun. Even before Ant there was George Speed. Lol, he was my bf for like a day. We later became good friends...so yea. Miguel. Ugh. That was an experience, really liked the kid. He just wanted to nut tho. Which now its w.e but back then it hurt. Senior year. Girls never talk to a guy with a gf, especially if she's a fat bitch who worships him. Why couldn't someone have told me that earlier. Talked to kid for months thinking "wow this is going somewhere" wrong. Only place he wanted it to go was the bed. Lol. Waste of a couple of months. Stressful. Then after was a guy who I won't name. Then another guy I won't name. Lol. Then another guy I won't name, and now its just me. And im really enjoying myself. I think im filling that "void" that is supposed to be filled by someone else. So I guess I'll be single for a while. And im totally cool with that. The stress that these young relationships provide isn't something im in the mood to handle.

The favo Show Tufli is back with new music!! yay!! I 've been waiting. After the huge success of his first mixtape "Without a Doubt" (of off the 5 part, "Fox 5" series) garnered 1000 downloads in 24 hrs(woohoo), fans were a little mad about the pushed back release date of the second mixtape. However, Mr. Tufli assured us that he was just tryna better the project. Iight. Alls Forgiven.

The 2nd mixtape is influenced by Outkast and is titled WestHarlemSwaggerifikMercedesCrusinMusikLabel. whew!! Its Show's take on Outkast's first album's name, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. The first single is named "Fashion Avenue" and features a remix to the intro of The Love Below produced by Woody. The song is hot!! Show tells us that its iight to feel cocky, he does and with good reason.

So I guess the "Air Yeezys" came out today, (yesterday??) and peopel are feinin for em. Why?? They are surely overpriced sneakers that are made for 3bucks over in Malaysia and sold to dumb ass niggas for $200+. Im so sick of seeing niggas in the hood with Montclairs, Prada sneakers, Gucci belts yet they ass still living in the projects. Maybe its the way I was brought up. My ma didn't spend what she didn't have on me. So this guy on Facebook hit me up on chat and started talking to me and shit. I normally ignore but his lucky ass musta caught me in a good mood. Lol. So we're talking and its obvious he's a HUGE fan of Demevolist. Not too surprised, they hot shitt!! lol...I felt like I needed to post for this kid, he's mad cool. So I shall.

He emailed me this long ass(but very detailed)bio, pssh, my ass to lazy to write all that. lol. The important shit is this kid is determined. He's 18 from D.C, he's a Kanye lover, first rap song he ever memorized was "Through the Wire"(lovess it). Besides Kanye, P.A is influenced by Lupe, Common, Ludacris, T.I and Charles Hamilton. He plans to release a mixtape called "One Man Duet" in July 09 and later(in 2010?? Naw kid...09) a series of mixtapes based off of the "Amazing Spiderman" comic books a la Charles le Hamilton. Obama Fried Chicken: Rascist or Genius??

Recently two "chicken spots" in Harlem and BK have renamed their stores to "Obama Fried Chicken" and with some it has caused an uproar. However, I don't see the problem. Living in Harlem I see "Lincoln Fried Chicken"(dumbb good on 125th & bway) and "Kennedy Fried Chicken", everyday. They were both named after presidents that resonate with black people and only use the name for profit. Is it not the same with Obama?? People are saying that it is rascist. How?? Because he's black and therefore he must like fried chicken?? Now that's rascist. They are simply using a popular name to increase business in a black neighborhood. Someone said "Well if McCain had won they wouldn't call the spot "McCain Fried Chicken" Hell fuckin naw they wouldn't, I don't think anyone would open a business in a predominantly black neighborhood and name it after someone they have a negative history with (don't see any "Jim Crow Chinese food places) That isn't good business strategy. Now, I must say that its very soon to be naming chicken spots after Obama, but hey, they saw an oppurtunity & seized it. We should be admiring their business skills. I see no rascism here and am not offended. Its really only rascist when the steretype that black people love fried chicken comes into play, and, that aint a sterotype. We do LOVE us some fried chicken, and I know Obama loves fried chicken too!! LOL

Ok, Charles Hamilton must be going on a sabbatical or something b/c this is the 2nd day of new music from him. Not complaining tho. Today, he released his anticipated "Incubus Project" titled "At Most I'm Just..." and I have to say I really do like it. Our favorite rapper Charles Hamilton has dropped another mixtape, "The Dead Zone". Charles has had a pretty eventful week; getting engaged and being called a "jacker" of the beat on his song "Shinin'" on the Pink LavaLamp album. However, like the musical genuis he is, he's continued to bless his starchasers and fans(check his blog for theory). Here's the new shit. And albeit the shoddy cover artwork (Really, my 5yr old. lil bro could've done better), the mixtape is pretty good. Not my fave from him but It's Charles Hamilton & its all lovee!! Lol

I was in work monday and they were playing a bunch of oldies but goodies. I was jamming in the fitting room to some MICHEAL!!! yea, the customers had to think I was crazy. anyways, towards closing I was upstairs and the theme song from "Shaft" came on. We all know Shaft was the hardest(pause) brother on tv. Shit, still is. And when this song came on all the brothers in Urban got some swag. My co-worker, Jaques, was at the door just swaying.
